Shakespeare in School – by H Bektas, 8W
On Friday 2nd of March, the Globe Players visited Latymer to perform for Year 8 a timeline of Shakespeare's greatest plays, ranging from ‘Henry V’ to ‘Romeo and Juliet’. They peppered their performances with explanations of Shakespeare’s reasoning, and his inspirations in accordance with the time period.
They performed extracts from Shakespeare’s most esteemed plays, talking through the thoughts that Shakespeare may have had whilst writing his plays. They also explained Shakespeare’s influence on the public at the time, and how his controversial ideas were not immediately accepted.
Everyone in Year 8 thoroughly enjoyed the production and were sad to see it end.
