 Sixth Form

 At AS level students will acquire knowledge and understanding of contemporary social processes and social changes. They will be able to critically evaluate a variety of theories, debates and concepts in relation to these topics, and will be able to make connections between topics. They will learn how to communicate this knowledge and understanding in a clear and effective manner.

 At A2, the course will build on the skills introduced at AS and enable students to demonstrate a wider range and greater depth of knowledge and understanding than at AS, as well as more highly developed skills of application, analysis, interpretation and evaluation. Throughout the course students will be encouraged to develop critical and reflective thinking with respect for social diversity as well as developing their own sociological awareness through active engagement with the contemporary social world.
